My Story
Craig "CJ" Woolard Jr. — Creator, Storyteller, and Vision-Driven Entrepreneur
I’m CJ Woolard, a creative born and raised in Boise, Idaho — though my story starts long before I ever picked up a camera or opened a design program.
As a kid, I didn’t have a drum set, so I built one out of chairs and twigs. Music was my first love. By eight, I had my first real kit — and by nine, I had a second love: storytelling through video. Inspired by my favorite YouTubers, I started my first channel and uploaded my first video using an old family Mac that took 20 minutes just to load a browser. It didn’t matter — I was hooked.
With limited tools but unlimited curiosity, I taught myself how to design logos in GIMP, edit videos, and understand branding and marketing. Every dollar I made from lemonade stands and sweeping hair at my mom’s barber shop was saved up to buy a used Apple iBook G3 — the first real investment in my creative journey.
From there, I never stopped building. I taught myself to make beats at 13, picked up the guitar at 17, and took jobs in construction just long enough to know it wasn’t my path. I was meant to create. And I was blessed with parents who didn’t hand me everything — but made sure I earned every opportunity I was given.
When I wasn’t making music or building my YouTube channel, I was helping at my mom’s business — handling the front desk, managing marketing, and running her apparel line. That was my first real experience with branding at scale, and it opened the door to my next passion.
At 18, I stepped into the world of design and vinyl work — from custom stickers to vehicle wraps. I started at a kiosk in the Boise mall and worked my way into other companies that helped sharpen my skill set. Through it all, one thing stayed consistent: I never stopped creating.
Today, I run CJ Creative — a visual media brand built from over a decade of hands-on experience in music, design, video, photography, and marketing. I specialize in producing high-end visuals with precision, purpose, and style. But more than that, I tell stories. I help people and brands communicate what makes them different — and why that matters.
This is what I was made to do. And I’m just getting started.
